The 6 Worst Dishes in The World

Written by Sebastien

Cracked.com came up with the 6 worst foods in the world. While they might have forgotten a few ones, I’m sure they are pretty close to the truth. Among the worst food, we have:

Escamoles

Escamoles - Mexico (how surprising!?) – Escamoles are the eggs of the giant black Liometopum ant, which makes its home in the root systems of maguey and agave plants.

Casu Marzu

Casu Marzu – Italy – Casu Marzu is a sheep’ milk cheese that has been deliberately infested by a Piophila casei, the “cheese fly.” The result is a maggot-ridden, weeping stink bomb in an advanced state of decomposition.

Lutefisk

Lutefisk - Norway – Lutefisk is a traditional Norwegian dish featuring cod that has been steeped for many days in a solution of lye, until its flesh is caustic enough to dissolve silver cutlery.

Baby Mice Wine

Baby Mice Wine – Korea – Little mice, eyes still closed, are plucked from the embrace of their loving mothers and stuffed while still alive into a bottle of rice wine. They are left to ferment in there.

Pacha

Pacha - Iraq – It’ a sheep’ head. Boiled.

Balut

Balut - The Philippines – Balut are duck eggs that have been incubated until the fetus is all feathery and beaky, and then boiled alive. The bones give the eggs a uniquely crunchy texture.

What a nasty list of.. erhm.. food. But I gotta add something; Norway got something similar to pacha, only here we fry the sheep head with a torch. xD

That’s unacceptable, right? Macs never used to be quite that. I am aged enough to think back to the very first one like that had input recognition AND 2 clicker buttons, nevermind all this fancy stuff they have now.

Nice way to rip-off an article from Cracked.com

@Naughty Id ont consider this ripping off. I clearly mention the source and link back to it.

Hi Sebastien. I cannot disagree more with your qualification of the “escamoles” as one of the 6 worst dishes of the world. I came recently back from Mexico where I ate escamoles, and I found them very good. In fact, they taste rather the condiment that it is used to cook them, but nothing nasty. I thought it more impressive to eat “chapulines” in Oaxaca.
