FaceBook is so annoying

I never liked FaceBook. I created an account a few months ago just to see how it FaceBook Sucksworks. After adding a few friends (actual friends), I quickly became annoyed and overwhelmed by the amount of useless information.

I had heard that FaceBook was a cleaner MySpace. This is wrong! FaceBook is everything but clean. All these crappy little apps are bothering the hell out of me. The page is cluttered and make it very hard to read or understand what you’re doing.

Is Google gonna save US economy?

Of course not! But at least the good results announced today by Google are reassuring for the web economy.

Google financial resultsGoogle posted today a better-than-expected profit, defying fears the company is facing an Internet advertising slowdown and sending its shares past the $500 mark in extended trade.

    Endorsing Twitter

I very rarely endorse products or services (besides the iPhone;-) but I’d like to share a new website I really like with you guys.

TwitterYou may already know about it. It’s called Twitter. Twitter.com is one of these new social networking sites that I believe is the future of the Internet. Anyways. Here is the pitch about Twitter: it is a service that allows you to know what your friends (or family or favorite band or whatever) is doing at all time.

    All South Park episodes online

RandyWanna watch episode 3 of season 8? No problem, simply go to SouthParkStudios.com. This website is a new business venture between South Park creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker and Comedy Central.

They probably did this to make money (revenue split of 50/50 between Comedy and Stone/Parker) but more importantly to slow down the broadcasting of South Park episodes on sites such as BitTorrents. etc…

    Google is evil

Google is evilFollowing something I posted yesterday saying that Google scares me, here is an interesting article. Basically, this article confirms what I’ve been thinking and saying for a while. For those of you who don’t want to read the full article, here are a few snipets:

Some have interpreted the ceaseless criticisms of Google’s privacy policies and its co-operation with totalitarian regimes as a sign the Don’t Be Evil goal is unattainable for a profit-driven company.

I agree with that! If you’re in business, you have to be somewhat evil. If Google didn’t want to be evil, it would be a non-profit organization…

    Favorite News Reader

NewsgatorNewsgator is an RSS aggregator that allows you to get your news the way you like it by adding your own RSS feeds from your favorite sites. You can group feeds in folders and read everything in a river-of-news. Or just read one feed at a time. Play video right inside your reader, or clip podcasts to download with single click.

Clippings allow you to save particular articles for later review. If you’re in a hurry, you can quickly save stories in folders you create to let you easily separate your world news from your weekly comic strips.

The mobile version of Newsgator is very slick. I use NewsGator everyday from my iPhone. The layout is clean and it is pretty handy to have all your favorite news in one place (especially when you’re stuck in an airport!).
